Project “Study of the risk of reinfection with hepatitis C virus and assessment of regression of liver fibrosis within the framework of the operational study ” Scaling up accessible and effective HCV treatment through community-based treatment model for most vulnerable populations in the resource constrained Ukraine” among the participants of the project “Expanding access to effective treatment of hepatitis C through treatment models at the community level for vulnerable groups in a resource-limited environment”, commissioned by the International Alliance of Public Health in Ukraine.
Project Manager: Trofymenko O.V.
Implementation period: March-June 2018.
Objectives of the study:
1) study of re-infection with HCV by determining the prevalence of re-infection with HCV in the patients of the project at least 48 weeks after they reach HBV12 and assessment of the factors associated with an increased risk of HCV re-infection;
2) study of regression of liver fibrosis by studying the changes in the severity of liver fibrosis in patients of the Project who determine the level of HCV RNA viral load at least 48 weeks after they achieve SVB12 (the presence of regression and its severity) and the determination of factors affecting the risk of a lack of liver condition improvement (risk of no regression of fibrosis).
The sample size is 506 respondents.
Recruitment to the study period – April-June 2018.
