02-03 August. Manager Olesia Trofymenko took part in the training for medical workers as part of the implementation of the “Bio-Behavioral Surveillance Study among MSM 2021”, which took place in Kiev, Lybid hotel conference hall.

The aim of the training was to familiarize medical workers with the general methodology and research methods. The training was focused on general algorithm of interaction between the members of the regional team and study participants from among MSM; algorithm for the implementation of the biological component of the study; peculiarities of preparation, storage, transportation and capillary blood collection; practical skills in working with rapid tests for HIV, antibodies to viral hepatitis C and syphilis; work with the software, project documentation, entering the information obtained during the testing into database via tablets.

Participants: medical professionals from 16 cities of Ukraine who are involved in the field stage of the study, representatives of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Coordinators from the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences “Center of Social Expertises named after Yu. Saenko”, representatives of the customer, State Institution “Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine ”.

This meeting was held with the technical support of the Project “Supporting the HIV epidemiological surveillance system and the laboratory management / quality improvement system of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, improving the use of strategic information and developing public health capacity within the framework of U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)”, which is implemented by the State Institution “Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” funded by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as part of the US President’s Emergency Initiative to Relieve HIV / AIDS (PEPFAR).
